Can you reroof over an existing flat roof?

Sometimes, but it is usually a false economy. Overlaying traps any moisture already in the old covering and adds weight without fixing the underlying problem. In most cases we strip back to a sound deck and start again, which is why the new covering lasts. We will tell you honestly which your roof needs.

How long does an EPDM rubber roof last?

A properly installed EPDM roof can last well over 20 years, and often longer, because there are no seams or felt layers to break down. The systems we fit come with long manufacturer guarantees.

Which is best, EPDM or fibreglass?

Both are excellent. EPDM rubber is flexible, quick to install and very reliable; GRP fibreglass gives a hard, seamless finish that suits balconies and areas that get walked on. We will recommend the right one for your roof.

Overview

Flat Roofing in Maidstone & Kent

Old felt flat roofs crack, blister and pond, and once water sits on them it finds a way in. Modern flat roofing is a different proposition: a single-piece rubber or seamless fibreglass covering with no felt joints to fail.

We install and replace flat roofs on extensions, garages, dormers, porches and outbuildings using systems that carry long manufacturer guarantees.

Why it matters

What you get with us

No joints to fail

EPDM and GRP go down as one continuous surface, so there are no felt seams for water to creep through.

Long guarantees

The systems we fit carry substantial manufacturer-backed guarantees when installed correctly.

Proper falls

We build in the right falls and outlets so water runs off instead of ponding on the roof.

How it works

Simple, straightforward, no surprises

1
Assess
We check the deck and structure and recommend the right system for the roof and its use.
2
Prepare
The old covering is stripped, the deck is made good and insulation is added where needed.
3
Lay
The new membrane is installed with proper trims, upstands and drainage.
